In Prince George the Spruce Kings (5-15-0-2) won their third consecutive game with a 3-1 victory over the Merritt Centennials (4-11-0-5). Returning to the Sprucies in mid-October, 1990 born Prince George resident Alex Wright was outstanding for a second straight game with 34 saves two nights after allowing two goals with 34 saves as well. The third-year netminder had his shutout bid spoiled with six minutes remaining. Offensively 1990 born PG resident Justin Fillion had two goals and in total has six on the season for third most amongst defenceman in the league.
In Powell River the Kings (15-4-1-1) swept a first place two game series at home with the Langley Chiefs (13-6-0-2) after a 4-1 victory. For a third straight day 1991 born Prince George resident Michael Garteig allowed only one goal after 24 saves. Powell River finished the month of October with a 10-1-1-1 record after a 5-3 September. For the Chiefs it was their fifth loss in the last seven games coming off of an eight game winning streak and starting the season 11-1-0-2.
In Nanaimo the Clippers (7-7-1-2) rattled off four unanswered goals to defeat the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (10-5-1-1) 4-3. Trailing 1-0 the Clip show tied the game in the first period and then rattled off three goals in a seven minute span in the second frame to take a big enough lead to hold off a two goal Bulldog rally.
