Although the winger has been a playmaker in the past, he hasn’t used his 6-foot-5 frame to full advantage, at least to Express head coach Dave McLellan’s way of thinking.
“For him, in the short-term anyway, he wants to be a player that gets recognized,” McLellan said. “His asset is his size. His general skating skills for a big guy are good. For his own development and his own career that’s what he’s going to need to do to be successful now and in the future as well.”
