The Silverbacks were prepared to play last night and it showed in the first five minutes establishing a solid fore check. However after taking three straight minor penalties the team quickly found themselves down 2-0 to the Vipers. For a few minutes after the second goal Salmon Arm was having trouble connecting passes on getting back to how they started the game. A costly Vernon turnover in their own zone ended up in the back of their net and that seemed to get the Gorillas really back into the game.
The second period continued like the first had began and the Silverbacks controlled the play scoring three goals.
In the third period it was a much different team than I have seen this season. Salmon Arm concentrated on getting the puck in deep and making quick line changes.
Kelly Zajac was one again dominate in the face off circle. In his return, after missing the last ten games, Bobby Lipsett didn't miss a beat having an outstanding game.
