By lunchtime Monday he was riding shotgun in a 2007 Ford pick-up driven by Chilliwack Bruins GM Darrell May, heading west to lineup with the Western Hockey League's top two scorers.
Undaunted, Bruins coach Jim Hiller kept in contact, assuring the benefits of returning to the "dub" with his hot hand. On Sunday night, Pighin agreed.
"If I was a betting man, I'd bet on that," the GM remarked. Pighin played with the former, when the pair skated together in Salmon Arm early in Santorelli's BCHL days (he was named the Silverback's Most Sportsmanlike Player in '04-05).
