Don’t let his 5’10”, 180-pound frame fool you into thinking he’s soft on the puck, either; he leads his team in penalty minutes thanks in part to his gritty, hard-nosed style of play.
But he was never able to get his game to click in Major Junior, and after a few forgettable seasons that included a brief stint with the Medicine Hat Tigers, he was approached by Capitals GM/Coach Scott Robinson with an offer to start fresh in his home province.
This season, however, he’s been the Capitals’ go-to-guy and leads the league with 11 PP goals, averaging one every two games.
