Express head out on tough trip

“They’re not giving us an opportunity to win the way it is,” said Express head coach Dave McLellan of the schedule makers.

He isn’t happy either about traveling tomorrow instead of today. In the past, the team has left for similar road trips on Thursdays.

McLellan wasn’t happy that veteran defenceman Matt Thomson coughed up the puck late in the second period allowing Nanaimo’s Brodie Zuk to give the defending BCHL champion Clippers a 3-2 lead.

“We want to make sure our goaltending is secure going forward,” said McLellan. “He didn’t have a great game, though.”
