Nunn and ’mates endure life on road

“Probably around 11 o’clock or midnight our bus broke down,” says Nunn. “Someone finally drove by and we eventually got a new bus, but we were waiting in the middle of nowhere for about an hour.”

The Grizzlies drove back to Trail, where they decided to bunk down for the night. Alas, there was no room at the inn. Any of them.

“So we were stuck down there for another hour or two,” adds Nunn. “Finally, we just decided to go to Penticton. We ended up going to bed at 6 or 7 o’clock in the morning. It was rough and we didn’t know how it was going to turn out the next day, but we came out and had a great game.”

As it happened, the sleep-deprived Griz knocked off the Vees that evening, then closed their pilgrimage with a victory over the Centennials in Merritt the following afternoon.
