Morgan’s goal was a product of hard work in the offensive end, a quality the Kings have come to expect from their all-rookie line of Correale, Morgan and Sammy Muchalla.
The Kings have six players who grew up in Prince George (Correale, Muchalla, Brandon Manning, Rylan Stanyer, Shaun Fomenoff and Damien Ketlo), and half-dozen others (Morgan, Ryan Hill, Ryan deVries, Zach Davies, Shane Mainprize, Matt Lees) who spent their minor hockey days within a four-hour drive of the Coliseum ice.
Tonight’s game is the first regular season game involving the Kings and Mills on Prince George ice since a fight-filled encounter last season at CN Centre, Feb. 24. Two brawls in that game led to suspensions and criminal charges filed against Kings defenceman Ryan Hill for his high hit on Mills forward Solomon McCann. That happened during a stoppage of play after Kings defenceman Jeff Forsythe injured his knee in an open-ice collision with McCann.
