Smokies knock around Merritt

by Craig Baird of the Trail-Rossland News

Salmon Arm (16-4-0-1) is the best team in the BCHL right now and their staggering 116 goals-for in 21 games puts them on pace for 330 goals this season. While that goal total is well off the 498 set by Penticton Knights in 1983-84, it would be the highest goal total for a BCHL team since the Langley Chiefs scored 341 in 2001-02.

The Smoke Eaters (11-9-0-2) are fifth in the Interior Conference, but their wins in the past few weeks have helped them climb up the standings.

They are 6-3-0-1 in their last ten, a stat that is very telling of their improved play.
