New Associate Coach Colin O'Hara joined the team at the start of September and takes over for the departed Dave Erickson who was with the club for a couple of weeks in August.
O'Hara comes to Salmon Arm after two seasons as the General Manager and Head Coach of the Nipawin Hawks of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Last season the Hawks missed the playoffs and finished last in the Itech Conference with a 20-31-6-1 record. In 2008/2009 Nipawin finished fourth at 26-26-2-2 and lost out in the first round of the playoffs.
Back in 2007/2008 O'Hara was an Assistant Coach with the Vernon Vipers and also assumed the same position with the Quesnel Millionaires in 2005/2006.
As a player the defenceman was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 1995 after an All-Star rookie season with the Winnipeg South Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. From there he went on to play 104 games in two years with the Swift Current Broncos and Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League.
