Night 9

In Prince George at the Coliseum the Spruce Kings received 44 saves from Ryan Benitez to defeat the Vernon Vipers 3-1. A pair of first period power play goals from Chris Bodo put the Sprucies out in front for their first victory of the season.

In Quesnel at the Twin Arenas the Penticton Vees received 34 saves from Billy Faust to defeat the Millionaires 3-1. After falling behind 1-0 the Vees used a pair of late first period power play goals to take the lead.

In Nanaimo at Frank Crane Arena the Westside Warriors responded to an early goal and scored late to defeat the Clippers 3-2. After Nanaimo scored 36 seconds into the game to take the lead the Warriors responded with two late first period goals to jump out in front. In the third period the Clippers quickly tied the game only to have Westside go back out in front for good with four and a half minutes remaining.

In Powell River at Hap Parker Arena the Kings scored on the power play, while short handed, and at even strength to defeat the Merritt Centennials 3-0. Michael Garteig registered 19 saves for the blanking.

In Port Alberni at Weyerhaeuser Arena the Alberni Valley Bulldogs scored on a power play in overtime to defeat the Langley Chiefs 4-3. Leading 1-0 and 2-1 the Bulldogs found themselves trailing 3-2 with two minutes remaining in the game but scored 11 seconds later to force extra time. Cole Huggins made 52 saves for Langley in a losing cause.

In Coquitlam at the Sports Centre the Express scored first and last to defeat the Surrey Eagles 4-2. After having a 2-0 lead whitewashed by two power play goals in the second period the Express were the only team to score in the final frame.

In Duncan at Island Savings Centre the Cowichan Valley Capitals rallied from down three goals to defeat the Victoria Grizzlies 5-4. Down 4-1 after one period the Capitals scored twice on the power play in the second stanza and twice at even strength in the final frame for four straight markers unanswered.
