Night 4

In Salmon Arm at the Sunwave Centre the Silverbacks scored six times in the first 26 minutes on only 15 shots to coast to an 8-4 victory over the Merritt Centennials. Cody Michelle was the only Silverback to score twice as seven different players tallied with 13 in total registering a point. Using three power-play goals Merritt outscored the Silverbacks 4-2 in the last half of the game. With the win Salmon Arm swept the home-and-home series with the Centennials.

In Vernon at the Wesbild Centre the Vipers retired Rob Short's jersey in style with a 4-1 victory over the Pentiction Vees. Down 1-0 heading into the second period Vernon scored three times to take over the game. Captain David Robinson contributed to three of the Vipers' goals. With the win Vernon swept the home-and-home series with the Vees.

In West Kelowna at Royal LePage Place the Westside Warriors also used a second period outburst to defeat the Trail Smoke Eaters 6-3. Down 3-1 after giving up three goals in a little over a minute in the first period the Warriors responded with three of their own in a little over a minute in the second frame to take the lead. With the win Westside swept the home-and-home series with the Smoke Eaters.

In Quesnel at the Twin Arenas the Langley Chiefs broke open a close game with five third period goals to defeat the Millionaires 8-1. Scoring 28 seconds into the game Langley took an early lead and used strong goaltending from Wyatt Galley who made 39 saves to carry a narrow 3-1 advantage into the final frame. Matt Ius recorded four points in the victory.

In Prince George at the Coliseum the Coquitlam Express recieved 44 saves from Luke Hernandez to defeat the Spruce Kings 4-3. Trailing 3-1 Prince George rallied to tie the game early in the third period only to have the Express retake the lead two and a half minutes later. Zac Ashdown scored twice for the visitors.

In Victoria at Bear Mountain Arena the Powell River Kings took advantage on the power-play to defeat the Grizzlies 4-2. Handed four oppurtunites on the man-advantage the Kings scored on three of them to improve their league best power-play to 40%. Matt Garbowsky led the way with a hattrick and also an assist on the other Powell River goal. With the win the Kings won both games against Victoria in the home-and-home series.

In Port Alberni at Weyerhaeuser Arena the Alberni Valley Bulldogs ended a back and forth game in overtime with a 4-3 victory over the Nanaimo Clippers. During regulation the Bulldogs could not put the Clippers away as three seperate times Nanaimo came back to tie the game after 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 leads. Finally Lars Hepso scored his second of the game in extra time to secure the win.

In Duncan at Island Savings Centre the Surrey Eagles continued an offensive onslaught from the night before and defeated the Cowichan Valley Capitals 7-2. After eight goals including seven on the power-play the night before in Nanaimo the Eagles settled for seven tallies with four coming on the man-advantage for their third straight win. Jeff Vanderlugt led the way with a hattrick.
