Killip Commits!

Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward Dave Killip has committed to play for Western Michigan University starting next season. The 1991 born Kelowna resident has secured a scholarship and will join the Broncos in Kalamazoo, Michigan after the completion of his third season in Salmon Arm. Named team captain the 5'10" 165 pounder has three goals and six points in ten games so far this season.

Last year the center iceman had a phenomenal season with 32 goals and 74 points in 60 games. In his first season in the British Columbia Hockey League he recorded eight goals and 14 points in 46 games. Prior to Salmon Arm Killip played Junior "B" in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League with Chase and potted 22 goals with 54 points in 50 games. In 2006/2007 Dave played for the Okanagan Rockets in the British Columbia Major Midget League and had 13 goals along with 28 points in 39 games.

The Broncos play in the NCAA Division I Central Collegiate Hockey Association and finished last in the standings last season prompting a brand new coaching staff this season. Currently the team features three Canadians with one being from Langley Chief Trevor Elias.
