Night 28

In Trail Sam Mellor's league leading 19th goal of the season was the winner as the Smoke Eaters (10-6-0-1) defeated the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (7-3-1-1) 4-3 in overtime. It was also the 1992 born Alaska-Anchorage committ and Cranbrook resident's second goal of the game and league high 32nd point. In the game Trail jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second period only to have the Bulldogs tie the game five minutes later. In the third frame Alberni Valley went ahead by one for a short period of time as well before the Smokies tied the game and forced overtime two minutes later. With the win Trail moved into second place in the Interior Conference.

In Prince George the Powell River Kings (11-3-1-1) scored four times in the second period to defeat the Spruce Kings (2-13-0-2) 5-0. 1990 born Ohio State committ and Penticton resident Chad Niddery once again led the way with four points including a shorthanded goal which got the scoring started in the middle frame. Meanwhile 1991 born Prince George resident Michael Garteig recorded his fourth shutout of the season already and improved his his league leading goals against average to 1.57 and his second best save percentage to .935. For the Kings they have now recorded at least a point in eight straight games whereas the Sprucies have lost six straight.
