Salmon Arm Silverbacks forward and Assistant Captain Josh Manson is fresh off serving a two game suspension and has two goals and six points in 11 games so far this season. Last season the 1991 born Prince Albert, Saskatchewan resident had ten ginos and 24 points with 75 penalty minutes in 54 contests. Prior to joining the 'Backs the 6'3" 200 pounder was captain for the Prince Albert Mintos and had 19 goals and 35 points along with 64 PIMs in 40 games. In 2007/2008 with the Mintos Manson scored four times and had ten points with 73 PIMs in 42 contests.

Cowichan Valley Capitals Head Coach Dale Purinton starts his first full season behind the bench after taking over on October 17th last year. Under his guidance the Caps went 21-23-0-2 and finished with the final playoff berth in the Coastal Conference where they lost a best of seven series in five games against the eventualy Conference winner Powell River Kings.
This season C.V. has started 4-9 but does have wins over Victoria, Vernon, and Westside. The former 181 game NHLer discusses playing short staffed, a dominant top line, and needing more from his 1990 born goaltender.
