Night 16

In Prince George at the Coliseum the Spruce Kings (2-7-0-2) protected a first period lead and defeated the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (8-2) 6-3. Scoring twice in the opening 20 minutes Prince George withstood a Salmon Arm rally that brought them within one goal with five minutes left. 1994 born Jujhar Khaira lead the Spruce Kings with two goals and four points.

In Merritt at the Nicola Valley Arena the Vernon Vipers (5-4-0-2) erased a two-goal deficit to defeat the Centennials (1-8-0-1) 4-3 in overtime. First trailing 2-0 the Vipers tallied twice in the second period followed by tying the game at three in the third before captain David Robinson ended the contest with his second of the game. In a rarity the Centennials finished the game without a power play.

In West Kelowna at Royal LePage Place the Westside Warriors (5-4-1) capitalized on the power play to defeat the Cowichan Valley Capitals (3-7) 5-2. Finishing three-for-four with the man-advantage the Warriors used the power play to go ahead by two goals on all three occassions after twice the Capitals had got to within one. For a second straight night captain Alex Grieve led the way registering a hat trick along with an assist.
