In Salmon Arm the Silverbacks (11-6) snapped a scoring slump and four game skid with a 7-3 victory over the Quesnel Millionaires (4-10-1). Scoring only three goals in their previous four games the 'Backs went scoreless in the first period but followed with four tallies in the second and three in the third. Six different players scored led by 1991 born Kamloops resident Devin Gannon who tallied twice along with an assist. Special teams were controlled by Salmon Arm with two power play goals and one shorthanded while holding Quesnel zero-for-seven on the man advantage.
In Penticton 1991 born Herbert, Saskatchewan resident Blake Voth recorded his first shutout of the season with 21 saves as the Vernon Vipers (9-5-1-2) defeated the Vees (12-5) 5-0. Scoring once on the power play and once short handed the Snakes recorded their third victory in three tries over Penticton this season. The loss also snapped Penticton's seven game winning streak.
In Trail the Smoke Eaters (11-6-0-1) scored four times in the second period to defeat the Prince George Spruce Kings (2-14-0-2) 7-3. Trailing 2-1 in the middle frame the Smokies exploded for four goals in 12 minutes including two on the power play and one short handed. 1990 born Robert Morris University commit and Kimberley resident Scott Jacklin led the way with two goals and five points while 1992 born University of Alaska-Anchorage commit Sam Mellor and Cranbrook resident improved his league lead in goals (21) with two and points (35) with three.
In West Kelowna the Westside Warriors (7-7-1-1) scored five times on the power play to defeat the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (7-4-1-1) 7-1. Finishing five-for-seven in total with the man advantage the Warriors scored the final six goals of the game after the contest was tied at one in the first period. 1990 born Calgary resident Alex Grieve collected his second hat trick of the season and in total had four points.
In Merritt the Powell River Kings (12-3-1-1) lowered their goals against average to 1.8 as they shutout the Centennials (2-10-0-3) 5-0. It was the second straight shutout for the team and ninth game in a row with at least a point. 1993 born Powell River resident Sean Maguire recorded his first BCHL shutout with 23 saves.
In Surrey the Eagles (9-7) tallied three times on the power play to defeat the Coquitlam Express (8-6-0-3) 5-1. Finishing three-for-seven overall on the man advantage the Eagles snapped a four game losing streak against the Express this season. 1992 born Surrey resident Andrew Hunt finished with 31 saves for the victory.
In Nanaimo the Clippers (5-5-1-2) tied the game with two minutes left and then defeated the Cowichan Valley Capitals (5-11-0-1) 4-3 in double overtime. Trailing 2-0 the Capitals scored once in each period to lead 3-2 before giving up the tying marker late in the final frame. For Nanaimo it was their first overtime victory of the season after two losses and a tie so far.
