In Salmon Arm at the Sunwave Centre two third period power play goals broke open a tie game as the Silverbacks (9-2) defeated the Merritt Centennials (1-9-0-1) 4-2. In total the 'Backs finished three-for-ten on the man-advantage while Merritt had a goal in three opportunities. 1994 born forward Morgan Zulinick led the way for Salmon Arm with a goal and two assists while Matt Cassidy scored both power play goals in the third period. The Apes took 1-0 and 2-1 leads only to have the Centennials tie the game both times 71 and 121 seconds later. With five seconds left in the game and Salmon Arm on a five-on-three power play a line brawl broke out including the goaltenders and two players from the Merritt bench setting up the back half of a home-and-home series on Saturday night at the Nicola Valley Arena.
In Penticton at the South Okanagan Events Centre the Vees (8-4) scored two early third period goals to defeat the Trail Smoke Eaters (8-5) 6-4. Trailing 3-1 the Smokies scored twice late in the second period to tie the game before falling behind for good three minutes into the final frame.
In West Kelowna at Royal LePage Place the Vernon Vipers (6-4-1-2) defeated the Westside Warriors (5-5-1) 4-1. Tied 1-1 the Vipers scored twice in the second period and added a final goal in the third led by 1990 born forward Kyle Murphy with a goal and two assists.
In Powell River at Hap Parker Arena the Kings (7-3-1) scored three times on the power play and once shorthanded to defeat the Quesnel Millionaires (3-6-1) 7-2. Falling behind 1-0 one minute into the game the Kings scored five unanswered goals to take a commanding lead. 1990 born and Alaska-Anchorage committed Andrew Pettitt led the way with a hat trick and one assist.
In Nanaimo at Frank Crane Arena the Clippers (2-4-1-2) scored eight times in the first period to defeat the Prince George Spruce Kings (2-9-0-2) 10-2. Registering 23 shots in the first 20 minutes for the eight markers the Clippers' Mike Domsodi registered a hat trick and five points in the frame while Brayden Jaw took three periods to collect his five points.
In Victoria at Bear Mountain Arena the Grizzlies (4-4-0-1) received 32 saves from Matt Ginn to defeat the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (5-2-1) 4-2. With both teams holding the lead in the first two periods the Grizzlies went ahead for good in the third with their second five-on-three power play goal of the game.
In Coquitlam at the Sports Centre the Express (6-3-0-1) scored five times in the first period to defeat the Surrey Eagles (7-6) 7-4. Scoring three times on the power play the Express were led by four players who finished with at least three points. Brad Reid and Destry Straight each had two goals for four and three points respectively while both Garrick Perry and Massimo Lamacchia both had four assists.
