In Salmon Arm the Silverbacks (13-6) scored and gave up a season high in goals with a 10-7 victory over the Victoria Grizzlies (9-6-0-1). In a frenzied second period which featured eight goals the teams combined for five of them in a three minute span. Scoring four goals in both the second and third periods the 'Backs temporarily had a two goal lead erased but recovered to win their third straight game. 1990 born London, Ontario resident Matt Cassidy led the way with two goals and five points. With 17 combined goals the game is the highest scoring in the league this season.
In Coquitlam the Surrey Eagles (12-7) won their fourth straight game with a 3-1 victory over the Express (8-7-0-3). Jumping out to an early 2-0 lead the Eagles hung onto the lead including being outshot 17-4 in the third period. 1992 born Surrey resident Andrew Hunt has now posted back-to-back brilliant starts after 36 saves to extend the Express' winless streak to five games.
In Duncan the Nanaimo Clippers(6-6-1-2) took advantage of a late too many men on the ice penalty to defeat the Cowichan Valley Capitals (6-12-0-1) 2-1. Tied at one with five minutes remaining the Clippers scored on the power play for the difference maker. Nanaimo's penalty kill was terrific in holding the Capitals scoreless in ten oppurtunities while allowing only 23 total shots in the contest.
